Text-to-Speech Synthesis R&D Engineer Position, Cambridge, England

Toshiba Research Europe Ltd, Cambridge Research Laboratory (CRL) develops
embedded automatic speech recognition (ASR) and text-to-speech synthesis
(TTS) systems. The CRL Speech Technology Group is a small, multi-national
team located in Cambridge city centre. We currently have an opening for an
engineer or computer scientist to work on designing prosodic modules for
European and American TTS systems.

 

Required skills:

 -  Good knowledge and understanding of TTS systems, in particular prosodic
and synthesiser components

 -  Experience working on state-of-the-art TTS systems preferred

 -        PhD in EE or Computer Science in a related subject or equivalent
industrial research experience

 -  2-3 years industrial experience in TTS

 -  Thorough knowledge of C and the Linux environment

 -  Good Python and/or Perl programmer

 -  Knowledge of more than one major European language preferred

 -  Ability to read, write and speak English

 

The successful candidate will be practically-minded and able to interact
effectively within a group environment. An attractive salary and benefit
package will be offered.
