Dialog Systems based on XML Technologies
Workshop at the Berliner XML-Tage 2004
Oct., 11-13 2004 (XML-Tage),
Oct., 13 2004 (Workshop).
Humboldt University Berlin.
Since the first VoiceXML standard was established in 2000 the industrial
development of telephone dialog systems has speeded up a lot. Meanwhile
the considerably improved version 2.0 (2.1 in progress) is available.
Standards were proposed for multimedia dialogs, too (SALT, XHTML+Voice).
This workshop tries to shed a light on the state of the art of the
industrial development. On the other hand the relation between
implemented systems and current dialog research will be addressed.
Possible topics are among others the integration of dialog systems and
web technology, multimodality, principles of dialog design, and the role
of user adaptivity.
