Structural Semantic Interconnections (SSI) online
Linguistic Computing Laboratory - Università di Roma "La Sapienza"

It is our pleasure to announce the online release of
our knowledge-based Word Sense Disambiguation algorithm:
Structural Semantic Interconnections (SSI).

SSI is based on structural pattern recognition and exploits a lexical
knowledge base (integrating WordNet and other lexical resources)
to make the most appropriate sense choices for words in context.
The choices are justified in terms of a semantic graph including
the semantic interconnections maximizing the overall degree of
connectivity. Semantic interconnections are inspired by the notion
of lexical chains and subsequent works.

The algorithm can be accessed online from the following address:

A free registration is required. Literature on the algorithm
and other works carried out in the laboratory can be accessed
from: http://lcl.di.uniroma1.it

Roberto Navigli
