UK Speech Meeting Announcement
One Day Meeting for Young Speech Researchers

Thursday 14th April 2005
University College London

Submissions are invited for a one day meeting to be held at University
College, London, on Thursday April14th 2005. This meeting is an opportunity
for graduate students and new researchers from industry and universities to
discuss their work in progress with speech scientists and technologists from
across the UK. It follows the format of the successful meeting held last
year. <http://www.ukspeech.org.uk/> We welcome oral and poster
presentations on all aspects of speech research, analysis and processing
including theoretical work and speech technology.
This is also an informal meeting for members of the UK speech research
community. Preference will be given to submissions from the UK, although
submissions from elsewhere are welcomed.
It is not intended to rigorously peer review contributions, but if the
meeting is over-subscribed, the organisers will select papers on the basis
of their merit and likely interest to the community.
No complete proceedings will be issued, but a one page summary of each talk
or poster will be available at the meeting and on the web.
Conference Format
The format will be a mixture of talks (number to be confirmed) and posters
(about twenty) held over the day with no parallel sessions. The poster
sessions will be held at the beginning and end of the day to give
participants flexibility of arrival and departure.
The Haldane Theatre,
Wolfson House,
4 Stephenson Way,
London NW1 2HE.
There is no charge for the conference.
