EPSRC-funded PhD studentship in Natural Language Technology

Applications are invited for a 3-year EPSRC-funded PhD studentships
in Natural Language Technology at the University of Brighton,
available from early 2006.

The Natural Language Technology Group is looking for applicants
interested in pursuing research in NLT to PhD level. Applicants must
have a good honours degree (2.1 or first), and ideally a masters
(MSc/MA) or equivalent in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics,
Linguistics or a related discipline. We would be particularly keen to
receive applications expressing interest in topics such as:

-  Statistical approaches to language generation
-  Inheritance-based statistical language modelling
-  Grid architectures for natural language technology
-  Subjectivity in text

EPSRC studentships cover university fees and an annual stipend
(approximately £12000 per year in 05/06) for UK residents (for at
least three years prior to application) only. EU nationals resident in
their own country may also apply, but are only eligible for payment of
fees (no stipend). Non-EU applicants are not eligible for EPSRC
financial support, and should not apply for this studentship.
