Call for papers - Semantic Interoperability: A Practical Approach, Open Workshop at the I-ESA´08

Date and Venue:
Tuesday March 25, 9-30am ? 5pm
Room 360, Fraunhofer IPK, Pascalstraße 8-9, D-10587 Berlin, Germany

To bring together ICT innovators, from industry and academia, to present and discuss practical approaches to enhance the 
agility of business processes through semantic technologies. The workshop will present new ideas and directions, work in 
progress, and practical user perspectives on the semantic interoperability topic.

     * Semantic Interoperability challenges and solutions for  
Enterprise Applications
     * Semantic Business interoperability issues for SMEs
     * Semantic Standards for interoperability
     * Euro-China cooperation
     * There will be a mix of industry, technology provider, standards  
and academic presentations from the STASIS, BREIN and SEAMLESS  
projects, and also the CEC

Target Audience:
Industrial ICT professionals, academics, researchers interested in  
semantic interoperability.

How to Participate?
Whatever your background, if you are interested in the semantic  
interoperability field we would like to hear from you! Our workshop  
will be highly interactive, so even if you do not submit a paper you  
can participate in the discussion.

We will solicit papers and participation from people known to be  
interested in the semantic interoperability field.

Paper Submission and Selection Process:
People are encouraged to submit papers for presentation at the  
workshop. All papers will be peer reviewed and selected by the  
workshop committee based on the contribution to the goals of the  
workshop, the shared interests of other participants, promoting  
diversity and variety in topics and approaches, and likelihood to  
promote discussion and collaboration. Papers are limited to 4 pages  
(short papers) or 12 pages (full papers) and need to be formatted in  
Springer LNCS style (see www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html for  

Accepted papers will be published in the workshop proceedings. It is  
required for accepted authors to participate in the workshop and to  
present the paper. Papers should be submitted in either Word or PDF  
format to paul.cranner at sunderland.ac.uk

The deadline for submission is 11th February 2008.
