PhD Studentships: Speech Technology


The School of Computer Science and Informatics, University
College Dublin (UCD), is looking for applications for

     * 4 PhD studentship in Speech Recognition and/or Speech Synthesis

Starting date: first quarter 2009

The successful candidates will be expected to have a good primary
degree in Computer Science or related discipline and some
previous experience in the area of Speech Technology.

The positions are part of a large research project "Next
Generation Localisation" involving a consortium of leading Irish
Universities (DCU, TCD, UCD and UL) and Industry Partners, funded
by the Science Foundation Ireland (SFI). The project focuses on
Language Technology and Digital Content Management in
Localisation. Localisation is the industrial-scale adaptation of
digital content to domain, culture and language.
