The 3rd International Conference on Intelligent Technologies for Interactive Entertainment



Amsterdam, the Netherlands

June 22-24, 2009


The Human Media Interaction (HMI) department of the University of Twente in the Netherlands and the Institute for Computer Sciences, Social-Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering (ICST) are pleased to announce the Third International Conference on Intelligent Technologies for Interactive Entertainment on June 22-24, 2009 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The global theme of this third edition of the international conference is "Playful interaction, with others and with the environment".

Keynote Lectures

* Matthias Rauterberg – Entertainment Computing, Social Transformation and the Quantum Field

* Antonio Camurri – Non-verbal Full Body Emotional and Social Interaction: A Case Study on Multimedia Systems for Active Music Listening

* Michael Mateas – Interactive Storytelling


Additional Events

In addition to the keynote lectures, long and short paper presentations and posters there will be demonstrations of interactive entertainment technology. During the conference there will be an interactive hands-on session along the lines of the Design Garage that was held at Intetain 2005. Having Amsterdam as the playground, we are investigating how we can involve the participants in an urban game. One presentation session will be devoted to research performed in the Dutch national GATE (game and simulation research) project.



The proceedings of INTETAIN 2009 will be published by Springer. Selections of revised and extended papers will appear in special issues of the Journal of Entertainment Computing and the Journal of Arts and Technology.
