Speech is one of Microsoft’s most exciting technologies. It is driving the adoption of Natural User Interaction. As speech becomes more accurate its application becomes more useful – especially for the user experiences we drive in Windows Phone, Bing and Xbox Kinect. At the foundation of these experiences is our team’s software and human capital. Our team brings together talent in the areas of software engineering, speech recognition, speech synthesis, computational linguists, language understanding and modeling (machine leaning & classification). Together we develop and deliver robust, natural and scalable solutions across a rich set of scenarios and experiences, from the cloud to device, supporting many languages (currently 26, but we want more!).
Microsoft is seeking part-time or full-time language experts with a Phd in computational linguists, interested in R&D in the domains of language technologies, speech recognition, text-to-speech synthesis, text normalization, lexica and phonetic transcription, for the following 10 languages: Arabic, Turkish, Greek, Czech, Hungarian, Mandarin Chinese, Russian, Korean, Italian and Finnish
