The Conference on Natural Language Processing ("Konferenz zur
Verarbeitung Natuerlicher Sprache", KONVENS) aims at offering a broad
perspective on current research and developments within the
interdisciplinary field of natural language processing. It allows
researchers from all disciplines relevant to this field of research to
present their work.  

The KONVENS is held in a two year rotation, organized by the
scientific societies DGfS-CL (German Society for Linguistics, Section
Computational Linguistics), GSCL (Society for Language Technology and
Computational Linguistics) and OEGAI (Austrian Society for Artificial
Intelligence).

The 11th KONVENS is organized by OEGAI and will be hosted at the
"Juridicum" building of the University of Vienna. The conference will
take place from September 19-21, 2012 in Vienna, Austria. 

OEGAI invites proposals for workshops to be held in conjunction with
KONVENS 2012. We solicit proposals on any topic of interest to the
KONVENS community. Workshops will be half-day or full-day and will be
held on 

                   * Friday, September 21 * 

at the Juridicum building, University of Vienna. Proposals will be
reviewed by the conference organizing committee.

Submission Information
----------------------

Proposals for workshops should contain:

 * A title and brief (2-page max) description of the workshop topic
   and content.

 * An estimate of the number of attendees.

 * The desired workshop length - half-day or full-day. Note that
   full-day workshops may overlap with the final plenary session on
   September 21.

 * The names, postal addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses of
   the organizers, with one-paragraph statements of their research
   interests and areas of expertise.

 * A list of potential members of the program committee, with an
   indication of which members have already agreed.

Please submit proposals in plain text in the body of an email to
konvens2012 at oegai.at 

              * no later than March 23, 2012. *

KONVENS offers free rooms for up to 40 people, no separate workshop
registration fee, as well as a complimentary coffee break. Workshop
contributions will be published in the proceedings of the
conference. The successful proposers will be notified by March 30,
2012.
