Dear elsnet-list mailing list,

It is my pleasure to invite you (and your students) to participate in the MediaSense 2012, a Summer School focusing on multimedia content analysis, which is co-organised by the 3Dlife and VideoSense EU fP7 Networks of Excellence, and being held on 21st and 22nd May in Dublin City University in Ireland.

The deadline for students registering their interest in attending is 30th March 2012.

 

Registration to the summer school will also cover full attendance at WIAMIS 2012 (13th Int. Workshop on Image Analysis for Multimedia Interactive Services -- see http://wiamis.dcu.ie), which runs immediately after the Summer School.

 

For those of you wishing to get in some site seeing while you're here you will be delighted to hear that traditionally Ireland experiences its best weather during the month of May.

Effective multimedia content analysis has become a key area of research for use in a broad spectrum of applications, from the field of privacy-respecting and ethnically-aware video analysis in security to supporting real-time realistic interaction between humans in online virtual and immersive environments. MediaSense 2012 aims at bringing together young researchers working in the field of multimedia content analysis, offering

- Lectures delivered by experts from academy and industry providing a clear and in-depth summary of state-of-the-art research in the field

- enjoyable and stimulating environment in which participants will benefit not only from the formal and practical sessions but also from informal and social interactions with established researchers and the other participants to the school.

** The MediaSense 2012 registration fee for each student also covers FULL attendance at WIAMIS 2012 (13th Int. Workshop on Image Analysis for Multimedia Interactive Services -- see http://wiamis.dcu.ie) hosted by Dublin City University immediately after MediaSense 2012, on the 23rd-25th May. To further facilitate communication and feedback with WIAMIS participants, all summer school attendees will be invited to present a poster on their research in a dedicated poster session at WIAMIS 2012 on the 23rd of May. **

 

The registration fee for MediaSense 2012 is set at €505 and includes:

- All courses and course material

- Coffee breaks

- Lunch each day

- Full attendance at WIAMIS 2012

- A ticket for the WIAMIS 2012 social event

 

A special rate for accommodation (including breakfast) in Regency Hotel Dublin between Sunday 20th May to Friday 25th May 2012 has been arranged, at €59 euro a night (see website).
