GATE is an open-source NLP framework and a set of free multi-lingual NLP
components, including named entity recognition, information extraction,
parsing, ontologies, semantic annotation, sentiment analysis, and
evaluation. The software is used widely both by researchers and companies
alike and has a large, active user community.
The 7th GATE training course will be held on 9-13 June 2014 at the
University of Sheffield, UK. Early registration deadline is 30 April 2014.
The focus in this year's course will be on mining social media content with
GATE. The hands on exercises will be focused on analysing tweets, blogs,
and other social media content.

accommodation can be found here:
There will also be an opportunity for anyone registered at the commercial
rate to get a free 1 hour consultancy session with one of our team, during
the week of the course.
We welcome industrial or research sponsorship of the event--please email
