A full-time PhD studentship/ Graduate Teaching Assistant for a research project titled "Risk factors for Voice Problems in Teachers", is available at Birmingham City University (BCU). The studentship includes full payment of fees (£3,996 for 2014/15) and a bursary for living expenses (£13,863 for 2014/15).
Project Synopsis: A large proportion of teachers will contract a voice disorder at some point during their career. This project aims to establish the risk factors for voice disorders in primary and secondary teachers and to build a predictive model of such factors, including environmental, lifestyle, medical and psychological factors. The findings of this project will inform strategies aimed at preventing voice disorders.
